DRIVERS are being advised to plan their journeys this weekend with the A45 eastbound in Solihull closing for weekend work on a new pedestrian footbridge.
To allow teams to safely install access ramps to the main span of the bridge, the road will be closed from 10pm on Friday, October 28 to 5am on Monday, October 31.
Earlier this year, National Highways installed a footbridge across the A45 near the Arden Hotel.
That work is now being finalised and once complete National Highways say it will allow better and safer access for pedestrians.
A signed diversion route – which has been agreed with Solihull Council as the most suitable route for both the amount and type of traffic being diverted – will be in place during the closure.
