  • Out of the Dragon's Den - in to Touchwood

    Emily Cole

    15 May 2008

A PAIR of Dragon's Den rejects are hoping that a new retail unit in Touchwood will help them prove the famous millionaires wrong.
David and Sarah Glashan opened their fifth retail unit in the Solihull shopping centre on Monday May 5, two years after none of the four renowned entrepreneurs chose to back their unique product - the Itsa.
The Itsa is a beach bag which easily transforms into a sun-lounger cover and towel, featuring pockets for valuables and other summer essentials such as sun lotion, books and water.
The couple borrowed against their home to invest in the product and their hard work has paid off - so far they have sold 65,000 and they are hoping to reach 100,000 this year.
David said: "Since appearing on Dragons Den it has been a rollercoaster ride for us and joining Touchwood marks a real high point.
“We can’t wait to launch our two new products and build on the fantastic success we have had this year.”
