Ralph at the Bird in Hand

VIOLIN maestro Ralph Allin will be showcasing his talents at Henley in Arden's Bird in Hand pub next Friday (April 24).
Acclaimed as one of the best jazz violinists in the country Ralph has recently completed a series of sell-out concerts in major theatres in the UK together with Angela Rippon and has also been featured at Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Festival Hall London and Symphony Hall Birmingham. He was voted Jazz Musician of the Year in 1997. Ralph Allin and his Trio recently played Cheltenham Festival where they had another sell-out concert with a standing ovation.
At The Bird in Hand Allin will feature the music of the late, great, Stephane Grappelli one of the acknowledged world masters of the jazz violin. One moment Ralph plays swing then fiery gypsy music and on to Celtic jigs and reels making an exciting and electric night for the audience. Also making an appearance in the trio is one of the very rare lady 5 string bass players in the UK, Jadey Carey, playing an electric upright 5 string bass.
The gig starts at 8.30pm and entry is free for diners. The Bird in Hand can be found on the Birmingham Road, just half a mile outside Henley on the Solihull side.
