THE APPARENT rat problem across the borough should serve as a timely notice to the council that its decision to continue with weekly refuse collections was indeed the correct one.
If this many rats are already being seen in Solihull's streets and back gardens then one would have to wonder what the consequences of switching to fortnightly collections would be.
Now the responsibility lies with the people of the borough to do their bit and ensure all waste, whether it be in the home or out in the community, is disposed of correctly in bags and bins so the rats have nothing to attract them.
