Police want to trace Matthew Sidwell. (s)

POLICE are searching for a burglar who failed to comply with a court order.

Matthew Sidwell, 24, was found guilty of breaking into an outbuilding at Solihull College and stealing gardening equipment in May last year.

He was sentenced at Solihull Magistrates Court on August 31 and was handed a supervision order, a fine of £500, given unpaid work and made the subject of a community order.

He has since failed to comply with the conditions and is wanted for breaching the order.

Sergeant Tony Hanlon, from the Solihull offender management team, said: "We have made numerous attempts to locate and arrest Sidwell but all efforts so far have proved fruitless.

"We know someone will recognise him and we would urge anyone with information about where he is to come forward and contact us."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
