BIRMINGHAM City footballer Peter Lovenkrands' diamond-encrusted watch was snatched off his wrist by thieves at his Solihull home.

Two men grabbed the winger's £30,000 Hublot watch as he parked his car late last month.

Mr Lovenkrands was threatened by the duo, who also tried to take his wedding ring before fleeing. He was not injured during the incident.

Police have released an image of a similar watch in a bid to trace it after the attack, which took place at around 2pm on Thursday, January 31.

Detectives described the 33-year-old's watch as unique. Among the world's celebrities reported to own expensive Hublot watches are rapper Jay-Z and superstar wife Beyonce.

Detective Sergeant Andrew O'Keeffe, from Solihull Police, said: "The watch that was stolen is very unique. Fortunately the victim was unhurt following the robbery but this was a frightening attack and we are appealing for the public's help to find the offenders."

The men are described as white and aged in their late teens or early 20s. They were wearing hooded tops and had their faces covered.
