POLICE are looking for this man after an assault on a train.

The incident happened on the train between Birmingham Moor Street and Solihull Station.

British Transport Police (BTP) have issued a CCTV image of a man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation.

The altercation occurred on January 18 at 8.10am when a man picked up another passenger's bag from a seat and threw it across the table so he could sit in the seat.

The passenger who owned the bag challenged the man who is then alleged to have assaulted the passenger.

PC Jas Bathal, investigating officer, said: "Enquiries are ongoing to trace the man responsible and I am now seeking to identify and speak to the man in this photograph about this incident.

"He is described as being dark-skinned, of stocky build, aged 40 to 50, around 5ft 9in, with short, black hair.

"He was wearing a dark coat and carrying a rucksack."

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote incident number B7/WWA of 01/02/13.
