LAUNCHING a new venture in a recession is a brave move – but one that’s paid off for two
borough businesses who have now teamed up to continue their recipe for success.
The Fallen Angel Bakery opened its doors on Solihull High Street in December 2010 and quickly became a firm favourite in the town, bucking the trend at a time when many businesses were being forced to shut down rather than open up.
That same success has also been won by another new borough business - Monkey Music. Set up by Knowle mum Becky Bate just a couple of months ago, she already has pre-school music classes full of babies and toddlers making a song and dance.
Now the two businesses have joined forces to make the most of their recession-beating recipes – and in a move they think others should follow.
Becky explained: “We’ve teamed up to promote each other’s businesses by offering a great deal to those who have joined Monkey Music. Any child taking their Monkey Music sticker or t-shirt along to Fallen Angel in Solihull, will get a free babycino and chocolate brownie when their adult buys a drink.
“It’s a very simple link-up, but one that other borough businesses should be thinking of in what are tough economic times that we’re very happy to be bucking.”
Paul Gardner, Operations Director for Fallen Angel, added: “We’re delighted to be able to work alongside Monkey Music to offer something extra for the parents and children that attend classes in the area. It’s been lovely showing new visitors to the bakery our fabulous range of savouries, cakes and drinks – we hope to see them all again very soon.”
