JAKE Brown's first half hat-trick helped Highgate claim a stunning victory against their fellow strugglers on Saturday.
The victory, Gate's third of the season, was their best yet since joining the Alliance and lifts them to 16th place in the table ahead of a blank weekend.
There was little sign of the carnage to follow though when the home side went ahead in the sixth minute as Craig Hancox took advantage of poor defending to hammer home Chris Deakin's cross.
Gate continued to struggle early on and Shawn Edwards had to be off his line quickly to deny Thomas Green before making an excellent save from Deakin who fired goalwards after cutting in from the left.
Having survived without further damage, Highgate gradually going and Brown began to cause plenty of problems with the equaliser coming in the 22nd minute when he fired the ball across Ben Maddox and into the bottom corner.
He made it 2-1 ten minutes later when scoring from the penalty spot after DJ Pitt had been fouled by Thomas Baggott.
Toby Checketts and Brown were both narrowly off target as Highgate increased the pressure with the third goal coming in the 36th minute when Dineen headed down Liam Florey's corner for Pitt to score off the underside of the bar.
The hosts had no answer to a continued spell of attacking football with Pitt's quickly taken throw picked up by Elroy Bennett who beat two tackles and fired an unstoppable shot into the net.
Brown converted his second penalty on the stroke of half time when Adam Robinson cut down Bennett as he made his way towards goal.
Gate had to wait until the 79th minute for their sixth goal which came when Neil Kitching played the ball wide for Steve Jackson to deliver a low cross that Dan Povey converted.
Dineen punished another foul with a fine 25-yard free kick before Gate were awarded another spot kick which Pitt fired into the back of the net.
