JODY Dawson and Jennifer Ash met five years ago on a charity skydive - so the Olympic Games was quite a fitting venue for Jody to surprise his sweetheart and pop the question.

The couple, from Solihull, had often talked about marriage with Jennifer saying he'd never be able to surprise her with his proposal.

But she was forced to eat her words when Jody went down on one knee as they were waiting to watch a hockey game at the Riverbank Arena in the Olympic Park.

"Jody was painting a flag on my face ahead of the game and he kneeled down and popped the question," said Jennifer.

"It was well and truly out of the blue and I immediately said yes - and then cried.

"I'm so excited and couldn't be happier."

The couple have been celebrating their news with freinds and family while starting to put plans in place for an expected wedding next year.
