MONTHS of bubbling excitement will come to a head tonight (Friday) as the London Olympics 2012 finally gets underway.

Anticipation has been growing across the borough for several months with schools and organisations hosting their own Olympic-themed events as can be seen in these photos.

And the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Solihull at the beginning of this month saw thousands of people turn out to witness the furore for themselves.

If you are attending any Olympic event we'd love to hear from you.

Send us your pictures and a few details about your experience to: editor@solihullobserver.co.uk and we'll share them with our readers.
