Three people arrested on suspicion of murder

THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a former soldier's body was discovered in a flat in Yardley.

Brian Farmer, 64, was found when officers went to a flat in Coventry Road just after 6pm on Saturday, May 19.

One person aged 17 and two aged 39 have been arrested.

A post mortem proved inconclusive and police are awaiting the results of further tests while forensic enquiries are continuing at the scene.

Officers are also in the area to carry out house to house enquiries and to reassure residents.

DI Warren Hines from Force CID said: "Police are appealing for anyone in the local area who may have information or anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the flat in Bakeman House recently to contact Force CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555111."
