THERE have been a number of arson attacks in the Lyndon area of Solihull.

Several incidents of trees being set on fire in residents' gardens at night have been reported to police.

Officers are working with West Midlands Fire Service to track down those responsible and are asking residents to contact them if they have any information about the offenders.

Inspector Darren Wilson from Solihull Police said: "Thankfully no one has been injured following the incidents of arson and the damage caused has been minimal. We are keen to ensure this remains the case.

"As part of our investigations we would like to speak to anyone living locally who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the Lyndon area.

"Sometimes in similar cases across the force this kind of arson has been linked to young people engaging in anti social behaviour. We are therefore asking parents to speak to their children about the dangers that can be linked to similar arson."

Anyone with information can contact Solihull police station by dialling 101.
