POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Hall Green on Sunday evening (April 15) which claimed the life of a 42-year-old motorcyclist.
Emergency services were called to Baldwins Lane at around 5.10pm where they found the aftermath of a collision between a black Vauxhall Signum and a red Honda motorbike.
Emergency services, including a community first responder who was in the area, a firefighter, a doctor and two nurses attempted to save the life of the biker, but their efforts failed and he died en-route to hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Everyone at the scene worked hard to try to resuscitate the motorcyclist and those efforts continued en-route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham whose trauma team had been put on alert.
“Despite all the collective best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at hospital.”
Anyone who witnessed the accident is being urged to contact officers at the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
