PLANS for a casino and associated leisure complex at the NEC have been granted outline planning permission - The Observer can reveal.
Planning chiefs at a specially convened meeting last night (Monday) gave the project the green light after last week saying they were mindful to approve the scheme subject to further details being submitted and discussed.
These details were presented to Solihull Council's Planning Committee by the developer Gentining Casinos Ltd at the meeting.
And now they can begin to concentrate on detailed planning submissions for the Resorts World at the NEC complex - a 24-hour destination which will feature the casino, a hotel, cinema, bars, restaurants, a new conference centre and factory outlet shops.
More details and responses to follow shortly.
