BIRMINGHAM Brummies have announced the signing of Polish international star Sebastian Ulamek for the 2012 season.

Ulamek, who has 30 Grand Prix appearances under his belt, has been tempted back to British racing by the Selco Brummies after spending the last few seasons in his home country and Sweden.

He will form an impressive spearhead at Perry Barr alongside Bjarne Pedersen, Danny King and Ben Barker.

Ulamek will meet Selco Brummies fans at Perry Barr tonight (Thursday) when he appears at a function which is open to the general public in the main stand at 8pm. Another new signing will also be announced.

The event also gives supporters the chance to buy season tickets at a reduced rate as well as securing reservations for seating in the grandstand for the full season.

Other members of the Selco Brummies are also expected to be on hand to meet supporters and it represents a good opportunity for autographs and photographs with the team.

Birmingham boss Graham Drury said: “He’s won the title with Coventry and with all due respect the last time he raced here regularly the league was that little bit stronger than it is now and that’s why I believe he can improve on his average.

“In many ways he is the forgotten man of the sport but he has ambitions to go all the way and reach the top once again and he feels keeping busy by riding in the UK can help him towards that goal.

“He’s beaten the best riders in the world throughout his career and if he can settle in quickly and start scoring big points for us from the start then he will become one of the top performers in the Elite League.”
