NEW Birmingham Speedway signing Bjarne Pedersen will make his first Perry Barr appearance of the season on Sunday, March 11.
Pedersen will ride in the Ben Fund Bonanza, a meeting which raises vital funds for the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund supporting injured riders both past and present.
The Selco Brummies star is joined by fellow Dane and Grand Prix competitor Kenneth Bjerre in a meeting which is sure to attract a bumper crowd.
“This is my first time in the Ben Fund meeting though of course I know that it has been running for a few years now," Pedersen said.
"It’s a great thing to be part of, it benefits the riders who get injured. Luckily enough I have never had to use the Fund but it is a great thing and an easy one to say yes to riding in.
“Of course even better for me is that it is at Birmingham. I only rode there once last year so it will be my second meeting there and I will probably need it! It is shaped a little bit like Poole so that might help with my set-up.”
THE opening Selco Brummies action of the season will be on March 22 at Perry Barr in a Midland League clash against Wolverhampton.
