A DRIVER has been charged with causing the death of Castle Vale youngster Callum Henry who suffered a fatal heart attack after being knocked of his bike.
The ten-year-old budding footballer was critically injured when he was hit by a car in Farnborough Road, close to his home last September as he was on his way to pick up his kit.
Despite the best efforts of the medical staff he died as a result of his injuries the following day.
The driver of the blue Mazda 6 which was involved in the smash was arrested following the tragic incident and on Sunday (January 22) was charged with Causing Death by Careless Driving
The 25-year-old local man will appear before Birmingham Magistrated Court on January 31.
In the wake of Callum's death more than 4,000 people signed a petition calling for a pedestrian crossing at the scene of the tragedy.
