POLICE are trying to trace the owners of a stolen Marie Curie charity collection box they have recovered.
A member of the public saw a charity box being thrown from the window of a car being driven along Dog Kennel Lane in Shirley on December 21.
The witness followed the car to Notcutts car park and as a result of their vigilance two men aged 45 and 32 were subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft.
Both are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
The box was a Marie Curie charity collection box but there were no identifying marks or details on it.
In a bid to trace the owner of the box police are keen to establish if any one had a collection box stolen on or around December 21.
Anyone with information should contact PC Jannine Ancian at Solihull police station.
