Breaking News: Meriden gypsy appeal thrown out

GYPSIES who built an illegal camp in Meriden have had their appeal to the Secretary of State rejected. A full public inquiry was held into the development on Eaves Green Lane. And now Eric Pickles has upheld the decision of the Planning Inspectorate to refuse any applications for the travellers to stay there. More to follow»

MEMBERS of Solihull Royal British legion were joined by Solihull's Mayor Irene Chamberlain at the St Alphege War Memorial to launch this year's Poppy Appeal. Each year, the Poppy Appeal raises a huge amount of money so that the Royal British Legion can continue to support soldiers, veterans and their dependants. The pople of Solihull raised an amazing £53,438 for the Poppy Appeal last year - more than anywhere else across the region.
