  • TRAIN ASSAULT

    Jo Sykes

    01 May 2008

THE BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly assaulted on a train travelling from Birmingham to Hall Green station on Tuesday, April 1.
The victim, in her late 30s was travelling from Birmingham Moor Street on the 4.27 pm service to Stratford-upon-Avon.
At around 5.50pm a verbal dispute broke out between the victim and another woman in the rear carriage of the train, which escalated at Hall Green station, when both women got off the train. It is believed the argument then resulted in the victim being physically assaulted.
PC Chris Casey from British Transport Police, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses who were travelling on the same train service from Snow Hill to Stratford Upon Avon or who were standing at Hall Green Station to come forward and contact BTP as they may have important information that could help the investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Chris Casey on Freefone 0800 405040 quoting incident number 508 of 01/04/2008 or alternatively Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
